The Location

This area is also served by the Metro A line, which can take you to the Vatican and the central station, Termini. From the latter you can take Metro B down to the Colosseum.

Just one stop later at Circo Massimo, you will find yourself at the bottom of the Aventino Hill. Ascending the gentle hill to the top, you can find the Giardino degli Arance, and the keyhole which frames St Peter’s Basilica. The garden is a great place to relax under the shades of its orange trees. From here you can moreover enjoy a great view over the River Tiber and the historical center.
