If you are a vintage shopper, you’ll be pleased to know that Monti has a famous vintage market. We recommend this lovely pied-à-terre to students and young travelers who wish to explore the Eternal City while staying in a neighborhood with a jazzy vibe.

The Location

Monti is one of Rome’s trendiest areas. Young professionals love to head here in the evenings for an aperitivo. An especially popular area is the Piazza della Madonna dei Monti, where people gather in the evenings. Join them with a ‘Pizza a Pezzo’ and a beer, to chat the evening hours away. Monti is also a great place for vintage lovers. Via Boschetto is a good place to start, should you want to discover some of the brilliant vintage shops in the area.

Monti lies just above the Colosseum, making it easily reachable on foot. In the area you can also find the Cavour metro station. From here you have direct access to Termini, the central station. Here you can moreover change to the Metro A line, which will take you through to the Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo and Vatican City.

«Nice apartment»

The flat is in an excellent location, and was reasonably priced. But when we arrived at 2pm (check-in is permitted from 1pm) the flat was not ready. It seems the owners' daughter had been staying there and had not bothered to vacate or prepare the venue. The bed was unmade (used sheets still on the bed ! ) and her belongings were all over theRead More place. Not a good start. The local agent, who was as surprised as we were, asked us to return in 2 hours so that the flat could be cleaned and made ready, which we felt compelled to do. Not a good start to our stay after a long and difficult journey.... The flat was, however, acceptable. Some of the items (such as the sink tap and the wall shelves which have been out up by somebody who does not know what they are doing) clearly need some maintenance, and the flat was basically full of the owners' personal items (ornaments, etc.), and the TV was very difficult to operate, but the bed and the shower were good and most basic amenities were available (we found an iron under the bed on our last day, as we were packing to go home !) Overall. the flat was not bad, but we will not stay here on our next trip
