This stylish Rome apartment for rent is situated on Piazza dell’Enciclopedia Italiana. At a few steps from the Pantheon and Campo de Fiori, this elegant penthouse offers a perfect starting point for an amazing family holiday.
You will find the apartment on the 4th floor of a building with an elevator. It has a chic entrance leading to a small dining area and to the kitchen. The well equipped wooden kitchen has a gas stove, an oven, a dish washer, a fridge, and freezer. It also provides all the necessary cooking equipment. Here you can easily arrange a very special Italian meal!
The spacious and inviting living room has a double exposure, facing both sides of the building. On one side it has a lovely sitting area with two large and comfortable sofas, a nice coffee table, a decorative fireplace, Sat TV, and Wi-Fi Internet. On the opposite side sits a large dining table with chairs. Following the corridor you will find the sleeping area where there are 2 double bedrooms as well as 2 bathrooms.
The first bedroom offers 2 single beds, that can also be joined to make a king size bed. A few wardrobes offer enough space to store your personal belongings. The second bedroom offers an interesting shape, a true romantic attic room with a king size bed, night tables, abat-jour and wardrobes. One of the bathrooms has a shower whereas the other one offers a bathtub. Finally, you will see that in the corridor there is also a useful storage area.
This apartment sits on a lovely square at the center of the authentic neighborhood called “Jewish Ghetto“. This area is extremely atmospheric and characteristic, and features the Rome Synagogue. Here you will find many of restaurants selling authentic Roman-Jewish cuisine that is just delicious. Moreover, the area is not as touristy as its neighbor, Campo de’ Fiori. This means you can benefit from an extremely central location without the intensity of the more traditionally popular choices.
As such, you will be able to walk to the majority of Rome’s attractions. To the South you will find the Giardino degli Aranci, the delightful Monti area, the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and the Piazza Venezia. Further East, and towards the North, you will find the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo, and the Pantheon. Circling round you will also find the Vatican City and the Castel Sant’Angelo. Just west of the Jewish Ghetto area, you will find the Trastevere area. Here you will find some great bars, and an even better atmosphere, especially come evening.

Ideally placed near many of the most important sites in Rome. The Jewish Ghetto is a very interesting area and the apartment is close to many good food shops and excellent coffee shops. «Great location for exploring Rome»
Nice apartment, great location for exploring Rome.
This is a lovely apartment. It is at loft level, so the ceiling can be low in places. But it is furnished tastefully and comfortably. There are two large comfy sofas in the living room-dining room. There is a separate breakfast room, kitchen, entry, laundry room and two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The living room has a large dining table and the ...Read Morebreakfast room had a nice table! Wow for a rental. We were there for about six weeks. It was “home”. The rental included weekly cleaning, which included changing sheets and towels, essential if you are using the small washing machines common in Italy. A separate laundry room is very unusual and this was much appreciated as well as a clothes rack. We also used the radiators for quick drying. Heat worked very well. We were there in March and April, so I can’t speak about air-conditioning. It was very clean and well provisioned. The main bedroom is large. The bed appears to be a designer bed and the mattress was comfortable. The main bath is large. The bathtub has a shower but no curtain and is handheld so we didn’t use it, unfortunately. The second bathroom has a shower. It is quite small and the shower head needs to be replaced. The shower doesn’t spray evenly. The only bad thing about the apartment is that the main bath has a nasty sewer smell most of the time. It must not be vented properly. We notified the management who said the owner would come by but nothing changed. Maybe it can’t be fixed. We opened the window in this bathroom and tried to ignore it. It would be nice if the owner would provide nice table linens to go with the generally high quality of everything else. There is an elevator that always worked. The apartment is at the top of the palazzo dell’enciclopedia Italiana, a building which is mostly offices, but not on our floor. There are several major bus lines within a block. Plus it is on the edge of the Jewish Quarter in Rome and very near all sort of ruins, museums, shopping, etc. You can’t find a better location. The Campo di Fiori and the Piazza Navarro are nearby. Around the corner on Via Florida, is a pizza restaurant that is to die for. They have so many kinds and a large variety that are either hot out of the oven or they will heat them up for you for eating right there or for take-out. A Coop grocery store is a block and a half away and is adequate for most grocery needs. Cross Via Florida, go one block continuing straight past the ruins of the Torre Argentina (where Caesar was killed), turn right, and you’ll see it soon. Eat in the Jewish Quarter. Go right out the front door and follow the narrow road then the pedestrian path for about 2.5 blocks and you’ll find lots of restaurants. To the right, we loved the restaurant Beppo e i suoi formaggi. To the left, try Bella Carne. Before you get to the street with the Jewish restaurants, you’ll come to a tiny piazza, with a Bellini fountain known as the fontana della torturuga. Turn left there and walk several blocks along an alley-like street to Ristorante Vecchio Roma, pricy but delicious. The massive monument to Victoria Emmanuele is just a few blocks down Via Florida, the Forum, Capitoline Hill and the museums nearby. The Coliseum just a little further on.
«Spacious and charming appartment in the historic center of Rome »
Wonderfull and charming appartment in the middle of the historic center of Rome. Lots of space for three adults and two children. Very good communication with our host, who was nice and flexible when our flight was belated.
«Wonderful, light airy apartment! Spacious, private!»
My husband and I had a wonderful stay. A luxurious spacious apartment. We felt privileged to have rented this lovely apartment. The beds were extremely comfortable! «Comfortable and stylish in an ideal location»
We really enjoyed our stay at the apartment. The location is ideal. The apartment was large enough for our group of four adults and one child. The bathrooms and kitchen were clean. It was a wonderful time!

We had a great time at the apartment and in Rome. We are a family of 5 with 3 older teenagers and there was lots of room in the apartment for everyone. Overall, the apartment was perfect. We really enjoyed our week there. The Rome Loft staff were very helpful and courteous. «Great apartment in a great neighborhood!»
Loved staying at Piazza Mattei, the apartment was beautiful, the location was a perfect mix of shops, restaurants, sites, transport and quiet. This was a wonderful apartment in the "middle" of Rome. Max 20 minutes to walk in either direction to the essentials sights. The apartment was clean, stylish, spacious and had all we needed. We were two couples who had a very pleasant stay :-) We'll come back :-)
«Perfect location and very spacious»
The apartment was in an ideal location as you can walk to all the sights and plenty of restaurants close by. «wonderful mansard in the very center of Rome»
Perfect location, apartment spaceful, two bathrooms of which one with jacuzzi, it is a mansard but with a very high roof, full furniture and accessories. Staff always very helpful. Just take care with the address, the name of the square is hardly impossible to be spotted, both in google maps and on the street - just refer to Argentina Square.
«Great location lovely apartment»
The apartment is in easy walking distance of all the sites and close to great restaurants, food markets and shops. The apartment itself is lovely and well equipped. RomeLoft staff were friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.
