This stunning historic residence was once the home of Prince Stanislaw Poniatowsky, a Polish nobleman, politician and diplomat of the eighteenth century. Upon emigrating to Italy, Poniatowsky fell in love with Rome and decided to make the city his home. Therefore he commissioned the construction of his house to a famous architect of that time named Giuseppe Valadier.
A famous family of antique dealers bumped into this very charming property (a wing of the historic residence), bought it and respectfully renovated it. In particular, you can admire some of the marvellous antique frescoes that they managed to bring back to life.
The courtyard of the building is full of history: precious Roman marble sculptures are a fantastic discovery. The entrance to this Rome luxury rental apartment is located on the first floor (no elevator).
The living room features comfortable light beige sofas, armchairs, a coffee table, a Sky 42″ TV, a DVD player, and a lovely collection of DVDs. From the living room, it is possible to access a lovely private balcony with a small table and two chairs, ideal for a romantic aperitif.
In this apartment you will have access to Internet Wi-Fi, and central heating. For the hotter months, guests will also have acces to an air conditioning system (2 splits in the 2 bedrooms + 1 split in the living room).
The fully equipped kitchen has a gas stove, oven, toaster, Nespresso machine, dishwasher, fridge, and freezer. Of course, all the necessary tableware and kitchenware is also provided.
There are two double bedrooms. Each offers a king size bed, flat-screen TV, an en-suite bathroom, wardrobes and a safe. The larger bedroom features enchanting frescoes with warm shades, an antique Cotto floor and a Sky 42″ TV. Its en-suite bathroom has a shower box.
The smaller bedroom also has a lot of charm and there is a 27″ TV. The en-suite bathroom features a large bathtub. Last but not least, a ravishing terrace with a wooden table, chairs and plants complete this recommended apartment. At the apartment, you will also find a small laundry room (washing/drying machine) and a Concierge Service thanks to the Manet Mobile device.
The residence sits just a few meters away from the Spanish Steps, at Via della Croce. This is a beautifully elegant area, and has some great shopping opportunities, both high street and designer. Its restaurants and bars attract a refined and stylish crowd that gather to chat and catch up, to see and be seen.
This district backs onto the lively and more laid-back Piazza Navona and Campo de’ Fiori areas. Here you will find many restaurants and bars that offer a friendly and laid-back atmosphere.
Make sure to also visit the Villa Borghese Park behind the Piazza del Popolo. This beautiful park offers a shady green oasis, and sweeping views over the Prati district from its Pincio Terrace.

«Amazing Residence in Perfect Location»
Our 5 night stay at Valadier Historic Residence was amazing. Exactly as described! A tasteful mix of historic and modern. Communication and check in/out was professional and easy. Spectacular apartment. Great experience. Will definitely return.
«very good service from Rome Loft !!»
nice and very good equiped appartment , very good service from Rome Loft
Great location in central Rome, but off the busy traffic street and in a quite area. Having a terrace was an added bonus. Wonderful restaurants in the immediate neighborhood. A respit after a busy day of adventuring out to see Rome.
«Beautiful apartment with great location»
This is just a nice place to stay when in Rome. Will do it again!
«Fantastic apartment in an excellent location within Rome\'s Centro Storica»
As a couple we stayed at this apartment for 3 nights in Feb 2018. We have visited Rome many times in the past 25 years at various apartments and hotels. We can honestly say this is the best accomodation that we've ever enjoyed in the Eternal City. The location in the Spagna-Condotti neighbourhood is unbeatable for convenience and amenity. It...Read More039;s a great spot for shopping, sightseeing and dining out. There's a very handy supermarket nearby, a fantastic cafe on the next corner and a Metro station within a 3 minute walk. The apartment itself is inside a 19th entry building and is in beautifully renovated condition, but with much of the historic decoration intact. The size of the apartment is simply amazing, with a generous entry hall, large well-equipped laundry (seperate Miele washer and dryer), a well-equipped medium-sized modern kitchen, large seperate dining room and two double bedrooms. There's also a very stylish and comfortable lounge room with a high-quality large-size Samsung television. The bedrooms each have ample wardrobe areas and very generous bathrooms. There is hydronic heating throughout the apartment and also reverse-cycle heating-cooling in the lounge room and each of the bedrooms. The beds and bedding are of high quality, with firm mattresses and very comfortable manchester and pillows. Although the weather was too cold in Feb to take advantage, we were also impressed by the two outdoor terrace areas. One very small one that could allow a couple to enjoy breakfast outside, and a much larger terrace at the rear that could easily accomodate a dinner party for 8-10 people. Any criticism of this apartment is quite difficult. We arrived during very cold weather in Rome, and found that the Hydronic heating worked very well - but it was programmed to shut off for much of the day - it'd bee better if we could control this ourselves. The apartment is on the first floor above street level, so it's just one flight of stairs. This is an important issue when travelling with luggage as there's no elevator in the building. Because you are closer to the main entrance - you might get a little bit of noise (as we did) when residents come and go late at night - but overall it's very quite, peaceful and relatively private. We can't wait to visit again. Anna & Brendan MELBOURNE Australia
«Apartment \"Valadier Historic Residence\"»
My partner, my son and I have stayed at this apartment in December 2017. The apartment is even prettier in reality than in the pictures. I'm meticulous about cleanliness and tidiness and I had nothing to comment on, it was just as I would have liked to receive it – very clean and very tidy. We loved the décor, and the fact that it was spaci...Read Moreous, quiet and really cozy, the perfect place to come home to after a long day of sightseeing and shopping in Rome. The beds were really comfortable, we slept very well, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Another important factor about this apartment is the perfect location – central, within 2 minute walk from Via del Corso and the Spanish Steps. The street itself is beautiful and picturesque, as are the other streets around it, filled with little stores, restaurants and cafes, as well as a small supermarket and a pharmacy right in front of our building. It was lively until midnight, which was great as we could have a coffee or a meal downstairs whenever we wanted, and yet all this liveliness wasn't disturbing at all inside, because the apartment faces an inside yard so it's absolutely quiet and peaceful inside. Lorenzo and the other staff members of RomeLoft.com were very nice and helpful before and during our stay, and I will definitely return to this charming apartment.
«A charming, comfortable and quiet place, right in the center of the world ( as used to think the Romans)»
Elegantly furbished apartment in a perfect location. The only slight drawback is the fact that the place is most of the time in the shadow, being at the first floor. This"negative" point during the fall or the winter is however a major asset during the hot season from may trough september. «Great historic apartment with every comfort in the best location in Rome. »
Very atmospheric, spacious and well equipped. Right in the action but at the same time very quiet and safe. I have been to Rome several times before but I would say that this apartment is in the best location ever.
«Great location, we\'ll be back for sure!»
Thank you very much for the hospitality, the apartment is unique and exceeded expectations. Our vacation was perfect. Nasir and the owner of the apartment could not have been more kinder than they had been. Each question was answered. If I remember correctly, the coffee machine did not work well and needed repair.

Our fifth stay in Rome with young children (under 5). Valadier is in a perfect central location but is also quiet in the evenings. We would plan on staying at least a week in Rome and staying here. Romelofts was very easy to deal with in booking and payments.
The Residence was beyond our expectations because of the historic value of the apartment along with the beautiful modern design. The staff was also very efficient and helpful. We only found the late check-out expensive and we do not understood why could only be paid by cash. Thanks!
«Beautiful property in a wondeful location»
We had a lovely 3 night stay at the Valadier residence in Rome. The outside terrace area was a great place to sit during the evenings with a bottle of wine. There was also a 2nd smaller balcony overlooking the courtyard which caught the morning sun. Wifi was good and reliable and the Sky box meant there were channels in English on the TV. The frescoes on the walls and the painted wooden ceilings really made this property unique. The location is fantastic, being a short 2 minute walk to the Spanish Steps. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and a supermarket on your doorstep which is perfect after a long day sightseeing in Rome. RomeLoft staff were very helpful and friendly during check-in and we would certainly return in the future.
Excellent, read airbnb feedback
Dear Sibilla, Our experience in Rome with RomeLoft.com has been really fantastic. The ubication of the apartment was unsurpassable. Its dimensions really perfect. Its decoration absolutely incredible. The person who attended us at our arrival really nice and very attentive. In summary, 10 out of 10. Absolutely recommended. Thank you very much.
This apartment is extraordinary with painted wood beams supporting the ceiling and frescos in grotesque style on the walls. Overlooking a courtyard it is quiet yet is within a long stone's throw of the Piazza Spagna. The standard of facilities is very high and the supermarket is two seconds away. I will visit again.
