This stylish 3 bedroom Trastevere terrace penthouse boasts spectacular views of the Eternal City. The modern interior design of this property provides a striking contrast with the historic buildings of Trastevere. This is the perfect option for travelers wishing to experience the historic areas of Rome. At the same time, you can still enjoy all the comforts of a modern apartment, including wifi.
The apartment, located on the 3rd and top floor of the building (without a lift) allows for a private and peaceful retreat from the busy streets below.
On entering the apartment, old features meet modern design with both wooden beam ceilings and cutting-edge design elements. The living room has a sofa, arm chairs, a small desk and a flat screen TV (there is also a subscription to Netflix!). From this area there is access to the kitchen and 2 of the bedrooms. A stair case leads up to the third bedroom and a beautiful terrace.
The kitchen is equipped with all modern amenities, such as a dishwasher, and also features carefully selected design elements, such as a gorgeous chandelier. It also offers ample cooking space. In addition to this, the apartment provides a table and chairs, where you can enjoy meals together.
From the kitchen a second stair case leads up to an upper floor study area. Here you will have a large closet with a washing machine, and a bathroom with shower at your disposal.
You will find two of the three bedrooms (all with air conditioning) on the main level, off the living room. Both of the rooms have double beds and offer a clean, neutral style. In this same area of the apartment you will also find the main bathroom for this level, which has a shower.
You can access the third bedroom, also with a double bed, from the staircase at the entrance of the apartment. The third bathroom, with a shower, is also located in this area. The apartment is children-friendly as it comes up with a high chair and a baby cot.
Perhaps one of the loveliest aspects of this Trastevere terrace penthouse is the breathtaking view. On the flower-filled terrace you can sit back and relax with a glass of wine in the evening after a busy day of touring Rome, and look out over the majesty of the city below.
The Trastevere neighborhood is a vibrant maze of typical restaurants, bars and small shops. Despite its maze of tiny cobbled streets, you won’t be lost for long. Simply follow the sounds of the crowds and you will soon find yourself in one of its piazzas.
Behind Trastevere rises the Gianicolo Hill. At the top you will find the Piazzale Garibaldi. This is a beautiful place to spend sunset, as you can watch it over the historical center and St Peter’s Dome in the Vatican.
From Trastevere you will have easy access to the Vatican. Moreover, attractions such as the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and Piazza Venezia are within walking distance. In addition to this, piazzas such as Campo de’ Fiori and Piazza Navona are just minutes away. The Piazza del Popolo and Colosseum are slightly further, however also easily reachable on foot!
We especially recommend taking a midnight walk over to the Trevi Fountain. At this time the crowds will have thinned significantly, and the nighttime illuminations create a magical atmosphere as they give the fountain an almost ethereal glow.

«Perfect location to really experience Rome. »
The apartment was great with our only complaint being the showers not draining quick enough so they flooded the bathroom floor. If you're choosing where to stay in Rome, whether you're a couple, or a family, this is the place to be. The décor within the whole apartment is so stylish. The attention to detail in each room has been carefully thought out and is a credit to the owner. A great utility kitchen with everything you need, as well as a Nespresso machine for a good cup of coffee in the morning. We had the bedroom at the top of the apartment next to the rooftop terrace and it was a dream. This room also comes with an en-suite bathroom so you don’t have to go up and down the stairs to use the loo! There are 3 bathrooms in total so if there are 3 couples, you all get your own bathroom. This is a real treat! There are so many wonderful spaces in this apartment, it’s difficult to pick my favourite, but I guess it would have to be the rooftop terrace, which is just gorgeous and perfect for all times of day or night. It’s peaceful and the views over one side are far and wide. I wholeheartedly recommend this apartment as the place to stay in Rome. It’s 10 minutes from the Vatican and 10 minutes from the AMAZING Trastevere. We walked everywhere and nowhere seemed too far away. I would recommend booking a taxi to the airport in advance as there aren’t a lot of taxis that come down to the road level the apartment is on, which is another of it’s charms. Worth every penny and I will definitely be staying here again when I come back to beautiful Rome. Thank you so so so so much. Emma and Jon.
The location is great, quiet but only a short walk from the buzzing parts of Trastevere. The roof terrace was a great bonus, even though we had a few rainy mornings. «Great apartment, great location!»
Simply the best city apartment we have rented to date. Smart, clean, well equipped, comfortable, quiet, roomy, loads of natural light, great roof terrace, safe and central enough to have all of Rome at a walking distance. What more can I say?! Otherwise, this is a fantastic apartment for 2 to 6 people. We went with our daughter (17) and she took the en-suite double room on the roof, while we took the master double on the main third floor. If we had brought our son, he could have had another double next to ours (with its own Juliet balcony) and we could either have shared the bathroom there or he could have used the one on the mezzanine above the kitchen. A little quirky setup then maybe but we loved it and it didn't matter because it was just the three of us anyway. Book it!
The apartment was everything we had wanted and more. We were very happy with how much space there was for our family. 4 adults and 2 kids. The 3 bedrooms were perfect, although the mattresses were hard. My partner and I stayed at this lovely terrace apartment with my parents on our first visit to Rome. We all agreed that this was good value. I liked the layout in particular. Be aware of the stairs leading up to the apartment (about 65) not a problem for us but I suppose could be difficult for some. The Vatican is also very close (10 minute walk ) and we walked to all the main sites quite comfortably. We would love to return to this apartment one day and would definitely book with Romelofts again. Thank you.
«We loved the apartment - it was delightful: clean, bright, well located, beautiful. We would highly recommend it.»
The apartment was everything we dreamed it would be. It had three beautiful, spotlessly clean bathrooms, three beautiful bedrooms and a spacious living room and kitchen. The location was fantastic...Read More - on a quiet backstreet but close to everything. The only thing that would have improved it would have been a dvd player. We have 3 children 8,10 and 12 and they enjoy watching a dvd in the evenings after dinner - so we used our laptop, while the fantastic large screen tv was in the living room but was no use to us as it only had Italian tv and no dvd facility. For most people this wouldn't be an issue - but we find, everywhere we go, the same thing. Great big tvs which only have local tv stations and no dvd facility. But this was only a small thing which could easily be remedied. Everything else in the flat was faultless!!!! We loved it! A bit of feedback for Rome Loft staff though - there was a 3 day cab strike when we were in Rome (which we didn't know about) and when I rang up to book a cab with Rome Lofts to take us to the Airport on our final day, I was told it was too late to book a taxi with Rome Lofts but that I could ring a local cab company 15 minutes before I wanted to travel and I would be fine. This was an appalling piece of advice. We tried to book a taxi two hours before we needed to leave and it was at this point we found out there were no cabs. We then had to take 3 trams and a train during rush hour - with 3 children and luggage - it was stressful but we made it in the end. Rome Lofts staff, if they had informed us in the morning when we spoke to them to book a cab could have told us about the strike and we would allowed far more time to get to the airport and it would have been a lot less stressful. Information is everything!
The house was absolutely beautiful, fun decor and a fantastic location, we could walk to most of the attractions we saw. The apartment was large and comfortable for our whole family.
